May Colby (1867-1942)
Description
Mary “May” Colgate Colby II was born in New London, NH in 1867. She was the daughter of Robert Colby and Mary Colgate. She was unmarried. She lived with her two siblings, Jessie and Colgate, and they were “colorful, stylish, improvident, and eccentric.” They spent winters at Copley Plaza in Boston, and they spent their summers at the “Colby Lane House” (which was formerly the Herrick Homestead and Herrick Tavern) in New London, NH. May passed away in 1942.
