Rather hungover-Peter off to rehearse with Sharon worked with Charlie-Then back to change + got see Sheldon Andelson + do the audition at 20th with Sharon. Bill Friedkin called to say that hew as bringing Mr + Mrs. Jack Cushingham-he used to be Elizabeth Taylor’s agent. Called Pam Polifroni-out to lunch. David Lewis-not there. Returned a call from Johnny Coen-no answer. Message from service that Lionel Franitz had called!!! Whee! Dear Lionel. Called back + he’s gotten married + Peter + I are going to have dinner with him on Monday. How great to hear him. Bathed + washed hair + went up to Price Street-no mail. Over to Argyle to work with John who came a little late. Class very small-Elissa Sharon + Peter not there. Alan said the director of cocktail party had been very impressed with me + my friend Frances Meehan. Oh lord. Rather interesting class. Edgar + Jack Starrett first-their scene for an audition-A little to fast I think. Somebody else worked + I can’t think who + then John + I did our scene-it was ugly but it worked + Charlie was very pleased with us-wants us to go once more on it. Diane + Bob Shayne next-then Phemy + Alan-giving rise to great speech from Charlie about caring + no big moments without deep feeling. Alan got up in the middle + sauntered back to his seat. A very resistant young man-Phemy all shook up. Peter came in + we left-Ate dinner at Theodores + left my car at class-Parker’s additional requests are that Peter pay some $4,000 worth of debts and that he leave the farm in his will to the five children-his own 3 and her two. Peter’s whole life is tied up-it’s too god damned awful. We talked about giving her the farm and the house and calling it quits. Of course she probably wouldn’t accept. What an awful human-Went to the theatre-line rehearsal-Show went well. Carlie + Diane came back-Scott + friend didn’t as he thought I was ba[_]. Rosemary Stubbs + friend came back-so enthusiastic-some strange man appeared + told me I was “great”-Ho Ho. Peter came + we went to Paul’s with Arthur Malet. What a nice evening-[crossed out writing] Arthur has been skydiving! Fascinating tales-we’re getting together as soon as he comes back.
