Peter off to work. I called Stuart + Phemy + they were pleased at the thought of dinner with Joe Anthony + Perry. Put in a call to Lyle-Snotty secretary-Lyle not there. Called Thayer David + made tentative dinner plans. Peter called around one-Unable to fix dinner with Joe as yet but they’re staying out for a while-called Stuart + Phemy back. Bill Tregoe called + wanted to know if Peter knows tunes to songs in “Take Her”-we had long talk. He’s very busy now which is nice. Peter’s phone bill came-$100.00 I paid it as alot of it was mine. Also paid my own for $14.00. Sent Jane her phone bill, paid Dr. Richman + wrote to Northeast Airlines for a refund. Sent Drue her Con Ed bill. Ran out of B.O.N.Y. checks. Thayer David called back about dinner tonight-told him I had a late reading for a commercial + we decided to meet later. It wasn’t true but I hadn’t any idea when Peter was coming + things were getting very complicated. Peter came back about 7:30-I had sandwiches ready. Got to the theatre on time-front row center. Was very unhappy with Dolores Sutton’s Julie-Heavy, Heavy, Heavy. So tearful I could have screamed. Loved however Marie played by Adrienne Hazzard. David played Sparrow or Ficsur. Signe played Mrs. Muskat. In the intermission Peter saw his former producer Dick Dunn + wouldn’t speak to him which sort of annoyed me-for no good reason-the 2nd Act was pretty unrelieved dreariness from Julie. Farley Granger had burst a blood vessel in his right eye which was pretty ghastly to see. Good card scene + lovely moment with Marie. Saw Arthur Hill after the show-He said he’d call but I know he won’t. Took a copy of my book to Signe who was wrung out from Hedda matinee + Liliom tonight. Didn’t stay at all. Went with David to Brown Derby after + made the mistake of saying how little i”d liked Julie + found Dolores Sutton is his best friend in the company-Oh dear-it got smoothed over I think. David doesn’t drink any more at all. I’m so glad. We closed the Brown Derby (12:30 or so) + then took David to Bob Millers where he’s staying-talked in the car for another half hour + arranged to meet after the show on Friday-nice evening. Stopped at Price St. on way home-
