Slept til about 10-Jack Donaldson called-appt at Gerry Schnitzer at 10 o’clock-Papermate pen-Got ready early + drove Jane to work on my way. told her about “only time this week I’m not having lunch with talent.” Went up to Schnitzers-was early. (Saw Dick Evans, Ben Normand etc. Lots of girls there-all talking about their various jobs. One of them got the part I was up for on “Barnaby + Mr. O’Malley.” Interview went badly-a sort of mime thing + I was poor. Went to bank-cashed check-Naha’s + looked for Valentines-not much luck-saw Mrs. Medby. Nice lady. Bought Life magazine with pictures of Churchill. Went to Price Street-Letter from Daddy-Came back to Burlington-call from Richard (?) Dikken (?) at ABC who wanted to know if I’d been receiving their newsletter. Told him no + not to bother-he was very nice. I was in foul humor. Read detective story + sulked. Peter had costume fitting in the afternoon-came in + found me broody-poor darling. At 7 we went to Bill Tregoes for dinner-Norma Grace the other guest-She works with relaxacizor + promised to show us how to use ours. Very exciting-made date for Friday evening. Good dinner + mood brightened. Watched TV-talked + drank. Peter + I cleaned up. We left Bill’s quite [____]. Stopped at Thrifty [crossed out writing] Drug + bought more Valentines. Back to Burlington + roused Jane to come down for a drink. Finally Peter + I after she went up had a fight + the usual “Go Home” bit ensued. But thank God I had enough sense to refuse-bed about 3:30 I guess. Called Mary before she left for the hospital.
