Well today was lost. Got up + did my exercises so strenuously-showing off to Peter-that I felt [crossed out writing] physically sick to my stomach + went back to bed. Had tea + lay about. Finally about four we got up + went out-no mail-went to Hillhurst + bought Korbel for Allen + cashed check. Then drove over to H’wood Blvd + lo + behold Pickwick’s was closed-I’d forgotten all about the big Christmas Parade. The streets were already lined with people-an hour + a half before it was to start… We went to the big drugstore on Bev. + La Cunega + got a 5 yr diary + a rather inferior troll + some other items. John Lennon not to be found. We ate at the coffee shop there + then went up to see the rest of the parade-all over, alas traffic fierce. Home about 11-had a beer + Peter cued me. Jane making pies for the party tomorrow. I went to bed + fell asleep pronto-Peter called Sheldon Andelson who alas said “call me Monday”-also said “I’ll get you free-I just hope you live long enough.” It’s all so frustrating.
