Up early + then back to bed-one of those days I couldn’t seem to get anything I really meant to accomplished. However I did finish “Henderson the Rain King” which is one of the most marvelous books I’ve read in years. Peter was in kind of a swivet when he left-took miltowns with him. I tried to call Timmy to tell him about the book couldn’t get him. Peter’s mail very dull. Went to Price St. about 1:30. Had two checks from BBI+O-totaling $103.34 ($127 gross) two usages. Called Jack Donaldson + told them they’d been sent to me directly + he said he’d get another release off. Also asked him to check the Barnaby series + evidently it’s still open-they have to decide on a little boy this weekend + after that they’ll get to the others. I sent checks to the bank + commission to Jack. Went to Food Giant to cash check for cash. Bought French bread for tomorrow and fresh orange juice. Planned to go to library to listen to “Cocktail Party” + then decided to get my own record. Called around + Denel’s record center on Wilshire + La Cienega finally had one. Put it aside for me. I waited til Peter came home which wasn’t until after six/thirty. He was unhappy with his day. Everything went badly. And to top it all off at the end (around ten o’clock) he discovered his wallet was missing. Lost or picked up at the studio. Too late to call. [crossed out writing] Spoke with Timmy just before Peter got back-he’d had a dreary day with his new business. Spoke to Charlie who said he’d come down on Sunday. Peter + I went to get record. Stopped at Ohrbach’s to look for black sweater-no luck + came back stopping at [___] Hammond’s for uninspired fish dinner. Asked Peter to cue me + he corrected me on the 3rd word + I could have killed him went into a snit + wouldn’t run lines. Silent meal. Home + listened to record. Quite impressive. Deeper [___]. Went to bed at ten o’clock with script under pillow-osmosis? Last resort.
