Horrid restless day. Accomplished nothing. Zero. Wrote Diary-sorted change-did exercises-Mary Parker asked Peter to cash a check. Peter got letter from Richard (”love Ricky”) asking to borrow $125.00 for his “important business.” When I think of the last letter that boy wrote it makes my blood boil-still I think he should send it. We went uptown about 1:15. Made up some rolls of change-Another $10 of halves and a roll of nickels. Argus Champion came but incomplete in their election figures. However they have Jimmy ahead by about 200 votes or so from what I could make out-An invitation to a photograph exhibit from Jill-tomorrow afternoon. Maybe we’ll go. Called Mary to tell her about the Bing Crosby Show + Betty Kingsley + Anne Furness. Peter went to the bank and I went to Rick’s to look for a dress. No luck. His mother is better which is nice. Told the Chinese Laundry about the show + Mrs. Medby at Naha’s. Back to Burlington went over list of questions with Peter who went to see Howard Rubin-he’s signed again with G.A.C. for 3 years. I went shopping downtown for a black dress-the Broadway and Bullocks-very disheartening-found nothing near what I wanted. But ended up with a dress I really didn’t want for $17.00 simply because the sales lady was so awfully nice. Hell. Got all tied up in traffic + got home about 6:30. Message from David Lewis-rehearsal at 10 o’clock on Wednesday. I was in terrible humor-felt fat + ugly + old. Went to sleep. Took a nap for a couple of hours. Went up to watch Bing Crosby Show. No single shots-was disappointed-Doubt if it’ll do me any good anywhere-good billing however-came downstairs + moped around. Peter went to bed. Janie came in + I went upstairs to meet Paul Prokoff-liked him. Came downstairs about 2:00-a little before. Restless as hell-couldn’t sleep. Strange dreams when I finally did-about Jacques + M. Feau + Aunt Evelyn-all very mixed up-Mme Dery
