    Metrecal Dinner + Drinks

Slept til about 11-up futzed about-coffee. Diary etc. Called Judy Spicer + George. Made date to get hair done at 5 o’clock. Called Izzy + straightened out plans for the evening. Called Thomas Cook-not a word from Ibiza. Frank Verhoorn thoroughly mystified. Janie came down-was going to dentist but couldn’t get appointment until tomorrow. I worked with Peter on his lines for the Donna Reed show + got very sharp with him for not knowing them or as best I could see even having thought about them. Oh well. He went up to Price St. and the bank and cleaners etc-while I went off to unemployment-long wait but once at the window although it was a scheduled interview took no time at all Looked at Cocktail Party lines a little. Saw Bill Allyn in the parking lot. Nice chat. He’s not acting any more he said + is a hundred times happier which is nice. Told me there had been a big article on Sid Michaels in Show magazine. How nice too. Talked briefly about Olive Deering-not happy for which I’m sorry. Alfred Ryder is out here + they’re (Olive + Alfred) on very bad terms. Thayer David may be coming out in the American Rep Company with Farley Granger + Signe. I went to Pickwick’s + bought 2 copies of Cocktail Part and a mystery. Went to Judy + George-Bryan in lovely humor-cute as a button. George gave me a very good cut. Peter + I invited to dinner on Monday. Called Peter + decided to meet him at Timmy’s as time was getting short. Played 3 games of double solitaire with Judy + then went to Larrabee via the Shermart for cigarettes. I’m going to have to cut down for Cocktail Party I know. Timmy on the phone when I got there-very involved story. Some Little Princess (of Bismark) of 25 with husband + two children has rather fallen for him. The only problem is Mon Sturges is madly in love with her + wants to marry her-Timmy should stay out of the whole thing-no ifs ands or buts. The job Timmy mentioned didn’t come through-we had a good dinner but then Timmy turned on the set. He seems unable to do without it. Peter took Izzy home. Peter + I drove back to Burlington + cleaned up some dishes.
