Woke at 8:30-plugged in coffee + went back to bed-woke up at 9:30-another at 10:00-nagged Peter to get up-but lay abed myself for a bit. He got off a little after eleven to see Geo. Morris. Didn’t have address. Started picking up a bit-house a mess. Jane came down for coffee-ants all over the Abbey rent. napkins. Izzy called-made vague plans for Thursday night-they close [crossed out writing] Sunday + leave for San Francisco on Monday. Peter back in time to take me to Rocket prodn’s for my interview was very grateful-He’d seen Sheldon Andelson who sent his tax info to other lawyer. Geo. Morris had suggested he freelance + said he’d be delighted to send him for jobs on that basis. He was good for Peter’s ego. Saw Anne Christianson at the reading-lots of people. Read in groups of six. Funny commercial-very clever. Bob Strauss, Murray Albert + Maida Seven in my group. Impressive names called. I read for 2nd woman + 4th woman. I would love to do the 2nd. Came out + told Peter all about it-we went to Copper skillet for lunch-(about 2:30 or 3-) Back to Burlington about 3:30-Mary + Jane had finished dishes Abbey had been + gone. We paid Jane + promised Mary P. tomorrow. Called Mary (e.) who was still overwhelmed with party. Pretty bilious. I took nap. Up at 7:00 we took half-filled bottles of cognac + seagrams gin as a wee giftie. Had lovely [crossed out writing] roast lamb dinner-neither of us very hungry but we did well by the food-saw two new TV shows-”Voyage” a submarine drama that left me rather cold + “No Time for Sergeants” that was played a little cute for my tastes. Paul Smith who was my Wheat Chex husband plays the captain. Finally turned off the set + had a little conversation-relaxed + pleasant evening. Gave Timmy his check-came home about 11:30-Ben Wright coming tomorrow at 2 in the afternoon. I knitted a little on Peter’s sweater-am on first sleeve now-we had only one drink-surely a record of some sort.-
