Up around ten or eleven-another lovely day-had stomach pains today-so maybe what I had before wasn’t cramps after all. G.A.C. (Bob Levine) called + the All people want Peter back in New York this weekend to do another commercial. Still very vague + indefinite but it will be a new commercial not a re-make. That will be the 4th trip back to New York since the end of February. We had thought of going to Santa Barbara today but couldn’t leave until we heard more from G.A.C. so finally had to decide against it. Jane called to say she’s going at the end of the week. Everything right now up in the air-I don’t know about work on Friday and the strike situation etc. etc. No mail today for either of us worth mention. I wrote Maggie a letter and Peter finally sent off his letter to Anne Hobbs and wrote Sheldon Andeleson + Callahan. I called Peter Faith to say welcome out of G.A.C. and we had a nice chat. He’s got an idea for my book as a featurette-suggested someone to write music. We’ll talk about it next week. The worst of it is that I don’t know where I stand-whether or not I actually own 75% of the book or not. David Kallman has never written me. Peter S. Hobbs spent a large part of the afternoon + early evening putting a telephone in my office. One that will have to be hidden if ever the phone company comes around. It works. Whee! We went out around 9-up to Price St. to get mail and then to Zip’s for dinner. On our way for groceries after we almost ran over Bill Downey + Mary Parker-took them with us and after all came back for a couple of drinks. Tidied up the kitchen-hooray for the formica + went to bed about 1:30. I called Mary Jean around seven o’clock-they’ve decided they can’t afford to go to Las Vegas but begged us to come out to Ouray. I must say I’d love to. We talked it over Peter + I-and may just do it. Dick Jennings will be there on his way back from (or to?) the G.O.P. convention. I”m going to call them back tomorrow night.
