Judy Briggs told me today I reminded her of Katherine Hepburn. Peter’s divorce papers arrived-first step.

Up at 7:40-made some coffee-puttered about-Washed hair + took a bath-Read a short story by William Faulkner-very touching. Got made up + then Peter said my eyebrows were top heavy. Bathroom light impossible. Tried again. Ironed my shrimp-colored knit suit. Left about 10 in foul humor. Got to Desilu-Gower at 10:20. Looked in rear view mirror + discovered I had one brow higher than the other + both most peculiar. Too late to do anything. Went to Matt Rapf’s office. Bob Gist sick + didn’t come in. Thank God. Went over to see Milt Hammerman and he met Lin Stallmaster. I remembered his Daumier print which seemed to please him. Nice chat. Told them about eyebrows they asked if I’d be willing to come in again tomorrow when Gist gets back. I said sure. Gather I’d be off-beat casting age-wise but they + Mat Rapf think it’s all right. Hmm. Left + went to the Decorator’s Akron on Melrose. Found a marble tabletop also bought two door mats and four madras spreads-[crossed out writing] Had to make out a counter check-came back to Burlington-humor not much better. Put down the mats-the marble just right. Tried the madras on the living room couch-not good. Put two of them on the two day-bed-type things in the other living room. Used double as a bed spread to spare Peter’s quilt + will put the fourth on bed in my office-I took a nap. Peter went up to Price then unemployment + G.A.C. Mary came down to buy some stamps + envelopes-had coffee Showed her the covers + asked if she could fit them as her next job. Agreed. G.A.C. called + Breskin couldn’t make the appointment-I told her then was no way to read Peter + than rather pointedly said he was at unemployment. I called Mary + then went up to Price. No mail Thank God-except a return check from Pacific Telephone-called them + it’s all square called Donaldson agency and I have a “hold” on one for Friday the 10th for Slattery’s people-all still dependent on Bob Gist whom I’ll see either tomorrow or Monday. Went to Food Giant to cash check + drove out to Santa Monica by freeway. Very slow. Susan there to welcome me with Pat Frey + Nancy Frey-the other two girls are Janet + Jody-+I never did get their names but nice children all. Peter came shortly after I did + he did see Breskin after all. He got a call also to see about a game show tomorrow at one. Whee. Pleasant dinner-our Beatle records a great success. Allen came home + gave us some money + we left for P.O.P at 7:30-lovely place. As Susan said to me once “you + Peter ought to come back her sometime when you don’t have all of us hanging around.” They were dear little girls + alot of fun. Peter + I hated to leave at ten o’clock even more than they. Brought them back to Mandeville + they repaired to the back of the house while we watched some Kraft suspense theatre. We left at 11:15-stopped at Ranch Market on way home. Bought heaps of food. Back to Burlington-
