Called Geo. Spicer + have hair appointment tomorrow. Bill came from Louis + J.O.B.-(a little over $1000.00!!) Peter had nice letter from Louis B. saying he was sorry.
Up later than I meant to be-sleep of depression I guess. Peter took Timmy’s laundry to dryer. Cashed check for me + bought few remaining odds + ends for Timmy’s apt. Called Dick + then called Jack Donaldson-was told to call back later. Called Mitzi + we’re having lunch tomorrow. Called Jill who said she wanted to take some pictures of me-maybe next week-explained why I hadn’t called. Called Quinn + spoke to Pat-explained to her too how busy we’d been + that we hadn’t lost interest at all. She said she thought our script was very funny + so did Quinn-that’s nice-we’ll get together next week too. Quinn wasn’t there. I went through my income tax stuff-figured I’m due for the full unemployment-Peter + I drove there about one o’clock. Saw Bobo Leeves in parking lot-saw June Harding in line but didn’t speak to her. Very long lines. I got necessary things to fill out + have to report back Monday at 9 am. Ugh. Peter decided to go back later when lines had shortened. We returned electric saw. Stopped + told Panos he didn’t need to come down. Picked up some oil cloth + returned to Timmy’s. Dick came soon after. We had a message from Peter Faith but when I called back he wasn’t there so I didn’t leave my name + then forgot to get back to him-Richard + Peter finished rug in dressing room + electric wiring. I made up beds + laid the oil cloth in the kitchen. Peter went back to unemployment only to learn that he couldn’t file for unemployment at the new figure based on last fall’s earnings but has to stick at the present amt. of $31.00-how dreary. Dick left about five thirty-the place looking very nice already. Panos dropped by an hour later + explained the whereabouts of a few odd items. Peter took him home at 7 o’clock-came back + we watched Alvin’s TV show about Jean La Fitte. Really very good + we were both impressed. Called them + we’re going there for dinner tomorrow night. A friend of Timmy’s named Chalkin White called-took his number. Then Timmy called-was at the Huberts baby-sitting. We told him to come down when the Huberts came home-he said he would. We went out to get something to eat-a great deluxe hamburger-cheeseburger-chili burger + returned to Larrabee about 11:25-Peter fixed an unpainted place + I was just fixing the kitchen windows when Timmy came in. He was truly delighted and it was all worth while. He said that the grime had gotten beyond him + was swallowing him up and he’d been dreading the return but he also said that John Sherlock out at the Honor Farm was bad for him + now he’s all excited + anxious to work + get settled back in Larrabee. He brought out a bottle of bourbon + we each had 2 drinks + parted company at 1:30-so happy about the whole thing. I have an appointment with Jack Donaldson Monday at 4:30.
